About

Gina Adams.jpgAmerican Small Towns is back and I couldn’t be more excited. It was my original plan to focus my attention on towns with populations less than 25,000, and that is how the very first edition of this blog started back in 2013; however, I lost my love for writing and ended the blog in 2014 after the death of my father. Since that time, I’d never forgotten about American Small Towns, and recently found my writing voice again. So, I’m taking the plunge, and even though the URL is slightly different (minus the ‘S’ at the end), the narrative will remain the same.

I hope you’ll subscribe and join my journey in search of the simpler life, something that seems to have gone missing these days. We’ll not only discover the history of small towns, but also the culture, food, and best of all, its’ people. I don’t want you to read a story on this site that you’ve seen elsewhere; instead, I want to add something to the conversation, find places that could be misunderstood or changing, stories about seeing things in a new way, hoping to bring a new voice to a place or topic.

I’ll stick with towns whose populations are less than 20,000, but you never know, something unique might pop-up from some place larger. It’ll have to be unique enough to pique my interest, in the hopes it will do the same for you.

If you have any suggestions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Also, please keep in mind that while you may agree or disagree, I’m writing from my perspective and experience. Yours may very well be different, and that’s what makes all of our qualities unique.

A little about me …

Born in Seattle, grew up in North Texas, but now reside in South Central Texas. I earned a BA in Law and an MA in English Literature & Writing. I’ve been published a few times and my goal is to be published even more.

Welcome back! I hope you kick off your shoes (for me, it’s flip-flops) and stay a while.
